Resveratrol is produced naturally by several plants as a defense when under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fungal infection brought on by environmental stresses.

Our beautiful human bodies are subject to the same onslaught brought on by the food we eat and the environment we live in. Resveratrol has been found in a variety of plants and foods such as the skin of red grapes, red wine, blue berries, peanuts and Japanese Knotweed. Up until this point, red wine has been one of the best sources of resveratrol and has been herald for millenniums for its health benefits.

Rezilience – 100mg resveratrol

Fountain Of Youth In A Wine Rx?
Researchers Tell Morley Safer Red Wine Substance Resveratrol Could One Day Lengthen Lives

Watch CBS’s 60 Minutes examine that scientists have found a substance (resveratrol) in red wine that is slowing down the aging process in mice. Will it someday lengthen the lives of humans, too?

Science is looking intently at what is called the “French Paradox” which refers to the observation that the French who consume a great deal of red wine suffer a relatively low incidence of coronary heart disease despite having a diet rich in saturated fats. (Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S.)

Studies have shown that Resveratrol has shown several health benefits such as anti-cancer, antiviral, antioxidant that protect cells from free radical damage, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging to name a few. Resveratrol’s neuroprotectiveness is attributed to its ability to affect amyloid plaque in brain tissue that is associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Resveratrol has been effective against heart disease, type 2 Diabetes and insulin resistance and shown to promote mitochondria activation which is the “power plant” of our cells.

resveratrol and science

Through scientific research, resveratrol has shown to have a remarkable effect on the longevity on a variety of life forms. When fed resveratrol, Yeast cell’s life span increased by an astounding 60%, Fruit flies 29%, Round Worms by 15%, Killfish by 59% and Lab mice by 31%.

Not only did resveratrol dramatically increase the life span of these organisms but the quality of existence improved. Killfish that where fed resveratrol where able to navigate through tests with remarkable success compared to fish not fed resvertrol. Middle aged mice showed astounding balance and increased endurance compared to the mice that where not feed resveratrol and when examining their organs shown to be much healthier.

Resveratrol’s key is its ability to activate the SIRT1 gene which closely mimics caloric restriction (CR) which is a diet with 30% less calories but with proper nutrients. CR studies have shown up to a 40% increase in maximum life span and also provides numerous secondary health benefits, such as a greatly lowered risk for most degenerative conditions of aging. Caloric restriction is a biological stressor like natural food scarcity that induces a defensive response to boost an organism’s chances of survival.

According to the OSU College of Pharmacy; “In trying to determine the molecular basis for this genetic link to longevity, the new study found that SIRT1 increases the use of fat and reduces the formation of new fat cells – apparently it represses one or more fat-regulating proteins and other genes that drive fat storage following calorie restriction. This may have been an evolutionary adaptation for the body to sense short-term famine and counter it by increasing the burning of stored body fat.”

Resveratrol has shown to mimic the longevity and health benefits of a caloric restrictive diet with out actually restricting caloric intake.

Resveratrol can easily degrade from its active form of Trans-Resveratrol to its inactive form, cis-resveratrol. Resveratrol degrades easily from exposure to light, heat and oxygen much like a bottle of fine wine when not cellared properly.

is a unique formula of Trans-Resveratrol made from pure Polygonum Cuspidatum (Japanese Knotweed) that is manufactured in a climate controlled, oxygen-free and nitrogen rich environment by Capsugel®, a division of Pfizer.
is encapsulated in air tight liquid-filled capsules that are dark green (chlorophyll) much like a bottle of wine, and sealed in air tight blister packs. Red wines globally offer from about .30mg to 1.07mg of resveratrol in a 5oz glass. If you do the math you can see that one 100mg capsule of REZILIENCETM can equal from 93 to 333 glasses of wine with out the side effects of alcohol, calories or preservatives.
